God gives Mark Laprise an infinite lease to the Refuge property on 202 S Pineridge Rd in
Harriman, TN
- Mark asks Amy Steinnagel to join him in starting "The Refuge" -- a place of hope
for single moms & struggling families... a place of hope for believers to seek God
together.
- April: The volunteers start to flow; our first Refuge workday had over 60 volunteers, tons of
trash hauled off the property and the renovation begings!
- June: GroupWork camp asks to send workers to help throughout the entire summer. 33+ ministries
from 13 different starts joined to transform the Refuge grounds and homes.
- October: 501(c)(3) status was received-- it's unheard of to hear from the IRS within 1 month.
- November: Kadesh is complete-- our first family moves in!
-through out it all,
- God provides the tools, furnishings, and finances needed to make it all happen
- God provides a gifted and devoted family to do his work-- and most importantly, to love each
other
